Welcome to Silchester Farm. We’re delighted to have you staying with us and hope you enjoy a peaceful escape in the heart of the Hampshire countryside.
From settling into your room to enjoying something delicious from the farm, we’re here to make your stay as comfortable and effortless as possible.
Here are a few things to know during your visit.
The Essentials
Check-in from 2pm
On arrival, head to Car Park 2, which is located directly next to the main gated entrance. This is closest to the Farmhouse, located down a short path.
Follow the gravel path and head to the Estate Office. Our team will be there to welcome you, check you in and show you to the Farmhouse.
Check-out
Check-out is 10am prompt.
Our housekeeping team will be arriving to prepare the Farmhouse for our next guests, so we kindly ask that you leave by this time.
Before you head home, do pop into our Trough Farm Shop, which will be open after check-out. Enjoy a coffee and pick up a few farm treats for the journey.
Parking
Please use Car Park 2 during your stay.
Gate Access After 5:30pm
The farm gates will be closed at 5:30pm each evening.
After this time, please use the gate code 0611 to enter and exit the farm.
You’ll also find the code conveniently noted on the back of your key for easy access throughout your stay.
Your door will be opened and unlocked, and left on the latch for you to enter on arrival. The master key will be left on the hook by the front door so you can leave it there throughout your stay onsite, and take it with you if popping out and about.
We’re Here if You Need Us
Our team are on hand throughout your stay and will be on site from 9am to 5:30pm. If there’s anything you need outside of these hours, please give us a call: 0118 315 1537
Settling In
Heating
The heating will be set to a schedule ahead of your arrival to ensure a comfortable temperature during your stay. You are welcome to make use of the kindling, fire lighters and wood in the main living room if you wish to light the fire. We are happy to do this for you if you would like help.
Hot Water
The hot water system runs off one boiler throughout, so if all baths and showers are run at the same time, due to the age of the building it can take some time to refill in between, please be mindful of water wastage.
Kitchen
You’ll find washing-up supplies under the sink.
If you need additional cups, glasses, crockery or cutlery, please let us know and we’ll be happy to arrange this for you.
Things To Do On and Off The Farm
There’s plenty to enjoy during your stay at Silchester Farm. Take a dip in our heated outdoor pool, enjoy a game of tennis, hop on a bike and explore the farm, or wander over to Trough Farm Shop for something delicious. Dining at the Farm
There’s no need to venture far for something delicious.
We’d be delighted to look after you during your stay, whether you’d like breakfast delivered to your kitchen, a leisurely lunch or a two- or three-course supper.
Our menus make the most of fresh ingredients from the farm and the surrounding area, creating relaxed, seasonal dining to enjoy from the comfort of your Pyggy.

Trough Farm Shop
Open Monday to Friday 10am-5pm & Saturday/Sunday 9am-5pm for fresh sandwiches, drinks, sweet treats, and seasonal goodies.

Food Deliveries
If you’re ordering food to the farm during your stay, we recommend meeting your delivery driver at the entrance gate, as reception closes at 5:30pm. This ensures your delivery can be collected easily and you can enjoy your meal without any delay.
A Little History
Just a stone’s throw from the farm is the fascinating Silchester Roman archaeological site, home to the remains of the Roman town walls and ancient amphitheatre.
It’s a wonderful way to explore the history of this beautiful corner of Hampshire.
