Welcome to Silchester Farm. We’re delighted to have you staying with us and hope you enjoy a peaceful escape in the heart of the Hampshire countryside.
From settling into your room to enjoying something delicious from the farm, we’re here to make your stay as comfortable and effortless as possible.
Here are a few things to know during your visit.
The Essentials
Check-in from 2pm
On arrival, head to Car Park 2, which is located directly next to the main gated entrance. This is closest to the Barn House, located down a short path.
Follow the gravel path and head to the find the Estate Office. Our team will be there to welcome you, check you in and show you to the Barn House.
Check-out
Check-out is 10am prompt.
Our housekeeping team will be arriving to prepare the Barn House for our next guests, so we kindly ask that you leave by this time.
Before you head home, do pop into our Trough Farm Shop, which will be open after check-out. Enjoy a coffee and pick up a few farm treats for the journey.
Parking
Please use Car Park 2 during your stay.
Gate Access After 5:30pm
The farm gates will be closed at 5:30pm each evening.
After this time, please use the gate code 0611 to enter and exit the farm.
You’ll also find the code conveniently noted on the back of your key for easy access throughout your stay.
Every bedroom has its own key, and on each keyring will also be a back door key which is most often used as the main entrance. The front door key is kept on a hook next to the door should you require access to the front and main road.
We’re Here if You Need Us
Our team are on hand throughout your stay and will be on site from 9am to 5:30pm. If there’s anything you need outside of these hours, please give us a call: 0118 315 1537
Settling In
Heating
There are 3 white panels located in the living room, and both downstairs bedrooms - this controls the underfloor heating and will be set ahead of your arrival. If you find you are getting warm, then you can turn these down slightly. Please do not open the upstairs bedroom windows to cool down the building - as the heat will rise and disappear! If you turn down the pads you can control the temperature without having to warm it up again later. You have firelighters, kindling and wood to get the fire going if you would like, we are happy to light this on your arrival if you wish. The radiators and towel radiators are set to keep you toasty, but you can turn these down using the knobs on each should you need to.
Hot Water
Your hot water is available throughout your stay, so there’s always time for a hot shower or a long, relaxing soak in the tub.
Kitchen
You’ll find washing-up supplies under the sink.
If you need additional cups, glasses, crockery or cutlery, please let us know and we’ll be happy to arrange this for you.
Things To Do On and Off The Farm
There’s plenty to enjoy during your stay at Silchester Farm. Take a dip in our heated outdoor pool, enjoy a game of tennis, hop on a bike and explore the farm, or wander over to Trough Farm Shop for something delicious. Dining at the Farm
There’s no need to venture far for something delicious.
We’d be delighted to look after you during your stay, whether you’d like breakfast delivered to your kitchen, a leisurely lunch or a two- or three-course supper.
Our menus make the most of fresh ingredients from the farm and the surrounding area, creating relaxed, seasonal dining to enjoy from the comfort of your Pyggy.

Trough Farm Shop
Open Monday to Friday 10am-5pm & Saturday/Sunday 9am-5pm for fresh sandwiches, drinks, sweet treats, and seasonal goodies.

Food Deliveries
If you’re ordering food to the farm during your stay, we recommend meeting your delivery driver at the entrance gate, as reception closes at 5:30pm. This ensures your delivery can be collected easily and you can enjoy your meal without any delay.
A Little History
Just a stone’s throw from the farm is the fascinating Silchester Roman archaeological site, home to the remains of the Roman town walls and ancient amphitheatre.
It’s a wonderful way to explore the history of this beautiful corner of Hampshire.
